It can be quite tough to take care of your elderly parents, when they are living in a different country and you are settled in UAE. Well the best option can be to bring them to the Emirates so that they can live with you. You must obtain a parents visa UAE so that they can live in the country with you without any trouble.
You have to have a valid UAE resident visa in order to apply for parents visa Dubai or UAE. Along with that you need to have a minimum salary of 20,000 Dirhams plus a two-bedroom accommodation. You can thereupon get a one-year renewable resident visa for your parents or parents-in-law.
According to the new rule, you must sponsor both your mother and father together. You are also required to show proof that you are their only provider and have no one to care for them in your home country.
Whereas, if your parents are divorced or one of them is deceased, then you must have a documentary proof for the same, when visiting Department of Naturalisation and Residency Dubai (DNRD) to obtain the entry permit visa. This will be the initial step before applying for a residency permit.
Documents required
- A complete application form for parents visa. (Docman is one of the registered typing centers in Dubai)
- Your original passport as well as that of your parent/s
- A photograph of your parent/s
- A proof of your relationship with your parents, attested from your embassy or consulate and also a proof that you are the only care taker of your parents.
- Photocopy of your job contract or salary certificate from your employer.
Step by step procedure:
- Visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) with the above mentioned documents. Submit them with a letter from your side asking for entry visa for your parent/s. Do provide your contact number with these documents.
- Pay the required fee and let the registered typist complete the fee.
- Hand over the documents to the residency section of DNRD.
- You will receive an entry permit within 48 hours by post. If you applied for an urgent visa, then you may obtain it within a few minutes from courier.
After you receive an entry permit for your parents, then your parents get the permission to enter the country. You will ideally get the residence visa for your parents within 60 days from their date of entry.
Renewal of parents visa UAE
Once your parents visa UAE expires, you will have to get it renewed. Keep the following things handy, while doing so:
Requirements:
- Filled-up Application Form for renewal of parent visa.
- Original and photocopy of your parent’s passport (in color)
- Original entry permit of your parent.
- 3 passport-sized photographs of your parents
- Photocopy of your passport
- Photocopy of your tenancy contract and the latest utility bill
- Copy of your Employment Contract and salary certificate
- Medical Test Certificate
Procedure:
- Fill the visa renewal application form.
- Submit all the required documents to the nearest branch of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). You can find these at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Police General Headquarters, Municipal Clinic, DIFC, and Dubai Media City in Dubai.
- Pay the fees (i.e. AED 100 for an year of residency visa).
- The processing time usually takes a duration of 24 hours. You then have to wait for further instructions.
Additional Information:
- On the expiry of your parent visa Dubai you have a time of 30 days to get it renewed.
- If not renewed, then you would have to pay a fine of AED 25 per day during the first six months, AED 50 per day if more than six months late, and AED 50 per day if more than one year late.
Fees
- You are required to pay a refundable deposit of Dh2,000. Make sure you keep the receipt safely, as this will be refunded only if the visa is cancelled or when your parents die in Dubai.
- You will also have to pay an application fee of Dh110 application fee, along with the typing center fee.
